I’m on the front page less and less, because comments are badly broken with my adblocker on, and every time I turn it off it seems like something crappy happens, because they can’t control their ad network, and of course their own executives are happy to massively degrade site quality for a quick buck.

If Jalopnik (and all of G/O dies), then OPPO (on Kinja) dies.

While we’ll make sure it lives on elsewhere, I feel like maintaining the status quo for as long as possible is the best way to keep this community together...

I’m finding the comments section completely unusable on mobile unless I’m running a flagship or midrange device. And on a midrange device it’s not optimal.

Can't imagine what the people running $50 Walmart specials are dealing with.

Agreed, but the comments-on-the-comments are just a shit- show (which I know is true almost everywhere other than Oppo). I’ll just post/comment here and make our numbers look better.

One of my (very correct and 100% appropriate ) comments was greyed, and then deleted. Silly, but the last straw.

I thought about commenting on the Mulholland Drive post and providing some insight as a civil engineer regarding traffic control for construction as well as construction funding/ speed . . . and then realized that it would be a complete waste of my time.

Comments on Tom McParland’s Q&A post were kinda entertaining.

Who here with a 3 year old cheapo Moto running it on a chrome extension. Rarely have to refresh and can (almost) always comment accurately now that the ad is where it appears to be on the screen.

Just a mi nute ago I had to reload a page at least five times for the comments to show. Is this an accident, just inco mp etence on the part of the happy-go-lucky fun-loving Kinja developers, or is it deliberate ? It must be running their click stats way up. “Look, advertisers, at how many times readers loaded the pages that contain you advertisements!”

Might have worked 15-20 years ago, but advertiser should be smart enough not to pay for that these days.

Haven’t been there for a year. I feel like nothing of value is lost. Editorial content that could be bested by your local 2nd grade class, comment section that makes Youtube look like a discussion by  Nobel laureates.
